Heirloom Diamonds Reimagined in Modern, Platinum Rings
I really love how the wedding band looks like a crown for the engagement ring. The three gorgeous diamonds on this engagement ring along with the baguettes on the wedding band came out of the groom’s grandmother’s engagement ring. Most of the other smaller round diamonds on the wedding band came from unworn pieces of the bride’s- see the last photo for the original rings. Only two tiny, 1.5mm, diamonds were purchased new and that was for design fit. When giving a jeweler old jewelry the metal can either be scrapped and sent to a refinery or melted down and reused. Since the bride wanted platinum, all the yellow gold they gave me was refined and the value was taken off their total for the new rings.
